Team Empire, the gaming organization under which the current roster of Gambit Gaming formed in October of 2011, signs a new LoL roster after two years away from the scene.
On October of 2011, big things were happening in the CIS region. Ukraine's former prime minister was jailed for exceeding her powers, and Diamondprox and GoSu Pepper joined Team Empire. Needless to say, the formation of Team Empire, the team now known as Gambit Gaming, is seen in a more positive light. Though Alex Ich, Darien, Genja, Diamond, and Edward were only a part of Empire for two months, one might say they owe some of their success to the organization that brought them together. After all, "the Empire" became known,
in some circles, as the act of baiting enemies into a Nunu ultimate.
After two years away from the League of Legends scene, with teams in SCII, Dota 2, and Battlefield III, Team Empire has decided to return with a new roster. The players hail from Russia and Ukraine and have already been playing together as a group for some time. Nikita "conjke" Kuznetsov, the team's captain, declared that they are pleased to be playing for Empire, and their main goal is "to reach the same level as Gambit Gaming." They hope to grow as a team under the Empire banner.
The team will make their debut at Techlabs Kazakhstan on December 7th, 2013.
