With some unexpected advances from the quarter finals, the tournament is down to four Asian teams who will attempt to take the gold.
Singapore Sentinels had the majority of their roster replaced including the mid-laner and DotA legend Hyhy. Singapore Sentinels' line-up was not able to deliver results it used to, and Taipei Snipers managed to defeat them 2-0 to advance and face Invictus Gaming.
In the other quarterfinals matchup, former Season 2 World Champions Taipei Assassins fell to a rather embarassing defeat against the Vietnamese Saigon Jokers. After defeating TPA in a convincing 2-0 fashion, Saigon Jokers faces off against the 2nd place Season 2 World Championship team CJ Frost who's currently using Maknoon in the middle lane.
The semi-final matches start at 04:00 CET and the teams will continue to fight for the $50,000 prize purse, while Singapore Sentinels and Taipei Assassins place unexepectedly in 5th/6th.
