In a tweet today Complexity mid-laner “Pr0lly” confirmed his free agent status, severing ties with the team.
Pr0lly joined Complexity from Velocity e-sports in the spring split of the LCS, but after a lackluster season they were relegated by Cloud 9. Since then Complexity have been trying to reclaim their LCS spot. Complexity currently sits atop their group in the North American Challenger League, holding a record of 17-5. With only two weeks left before the LCS Promotion, the future of both Pr0lly and Complexity remain unclear.
For Pr0lly, announcing himself as a “free agent” could indicate his desire to join another Challenger team on the brink of entering the LCS. Perhaps he could find a home under a familiar name, Velocity, who recently let go their current roster in the hopes of acquiring a new one. Other options include hooking up with the ex-members of Napkins in Disguise, another NACL team who could retain their promotion seeding if the majority of the roster remains.
On the side of Complexity, this is the second major blow to their roster, with team captain and jungler Tyler “Lautemortis” Nicolls having left the team suddenly for family reason in late October. They will have to find a replacement quickly if they hope to have time to adequately prepare and re-work their synergy in light of the upcoming promotions.
