Though Team Solomid did not shy away from heavy aggression, heavy tower focus kept SKT T1 at the top of their game, dismantling TSM.?
In one of the least close matches of the World Championship, GamingGear.Eu succumbed to total and utter domination at the hands of OMG. The first step of the domination was when OMG clearly outplayed GG.Eu both in mobility and laning pressure. GG.Eu was not able to keep pace at the level of play with the Chinese team said to practice more than any other team.
After that, it was a slow but steady game for OMG. OMG removed every single turret from the game before dealing the final blow to GG.Eu. Though GG.Eu managed to grab two kills from the opposition, they were at nearly half the gold and could not keep the pressure off every part of the map simultaneously. OMG cleanly swept the floor with GG.Eu.
The final game of the night and before the break of Worlds would feature Team Solomid trying to break their awful win record versus Koreans, residing at 0-14. The early game was promising enough that this seemed possible. The game did not have a long ramp up time before there were teamfights abroad and explosive encounters everywhere. Dyrus was eventually bullied and camped with the rest of the team keeping up with their Korean foes.
Team Solomid went through the middle portion of the game by keeping even in fighting, but the pressure caused by the insurmountable tower lead that SK Telecom had left Team Solomid scrambling for ways to stay in the game. The dragon control was strong, but Reginald ended up absent from many fights to keep the minions at bay. Despite the defeat, we saw an especially amazing performance by TSM's Wildturtle and Xpecial.
