?Team Solomid tried their hardest to take back the throne they're so used to having from the increasingly powerful Cloud 9, but what they had to offer on stage just wasn't enough. Throughout the course of the games, the crowd's backing quickly shifted focus to the winning team. Not only did Meteos perform exceptionally well, but every single person, especially Cloud 9's bottom lane, came up showing their A- game today.
Game 1 showcased a very talented battle between two clearly top teams in the region, with both sides battling it out and showing relative skill. TheOddOne's presence was extremely impressive as he followed up on every gank that was going down between the two teams. Dyrus has shown he can play an excellent Karthus with his own unique style that sets him apart from Reginald.
After the first loss, Team Solomid showed just how important morale was to their success and the situation dipped heavily from there. From simply being sloppy to Reginald straight up leaving the game before it had ended, game three would not bode well for Team Solomid either. Meteos was completely invulnerable.
The one solid and noteworthy performer that didn't let the morale get to his head was Dyrus who went immensely positive in his Shen game against Cloud 9 in game 3. Team Solomid were unable to defend their title and ended the night severly outclassed by Cloud 9.
Team Solomid, Vulcun, and Cloud 9 will represent North America with the group stage starting September 15th. Cloud 9 will receive a bye to the playoffs based on winning first place at the North American regionals.
