Including the elusive Cloud 9, Vulcun are looking incredibly strong and well-composed in the entrance to Super Week.
Every team can slip when they are too far ahead and records don't matter. This was the story for Cloud 9 facing off against Vulcun. A well-fought level 1 leaving Vulcun at a 3-0 start, a team capable of closing out games, was bad news for Cloud 9.
In a short and decisive game, Vulcun took out the behemoths, rarely showing signs of weakness. While Sneaky was able to sneak a kill in the top lane on the hyper-carry Vayne, it wasn't enough to carry Cloud 9 through. Vulcun would only tease Cloud 9 with a temporary taste of victory before taking it away.
Team Solomid has been the kryptonite of Coast for the longest time, and this week's results would show no exception. Having not banned out their own options and legitimately played their strong picks, TSM were looking dominant over the majority. However, Coast did come out strong in the beginning.
As the game shifted into the later phases, Team Solomid looked like they were in much greater control. However, even with Dyrus playing at his finest, ZionSpartan put up a trademarked powerful performance with his Riven. Possibly the only positive performance on the team, ZionSpartan showed his strength on Riven, but it wasn't enough to carry the whole team, allowing Team Solomid to take the game.
Vulcun has been absolutely explosive today, deciding to drive their awesome performance to close out the first day of super-week. Both teams were able to acquire some comfort picks and acrue a solid composition to work off of. Though Dignitas didn't end up pulling out a win, they provided a superior fight to Vulcun than Cloud 9 did.
With a safer level 1, Dignitas did not allow themselves to become as disadvantaged as Cloud 9 at the initial levels, allowing them a more even playing field to provide for a closer game. Still, at every moment, Dignitas seemed just barely behind. Every step of the way, Vulcun left Dignitas just slightly behind. Eventually, Vulcun just showed as the superior team, and ended day 1 in high spirits for North America.
