?The first match of the MLG weekend for LCS would be the two arguably strongest teams within the LCS in a highly anticipated rematch. Just like in Cloud 9's first loss of the season, there level 1 was a little bit ugly but not nearly as gamebreaking as their game versus CLG. In the early parts of the game, Zuna would take phenomenal advantage of their early level 1.
Grabbing a kill immediately for Bloodwater with an assist on Zuna as well as another kill for Zuna not too long afterwords would help snowball the game in Vulcun's favor. Things were looking fantastic for Vulcun and they were looking to almost assuredly bring Cloud 9 to their second loss. However, Cloud 9 hung on tight and showed their versatility.
Cloud 9 not only made it a close game, but almost swung it back in their favor by accumulating gold by securing nearly every dragon on the map. Being triple the kills behind, Cloud 9 still was ahead in gold at one point in the game, putting the pressure onto Vulcun. However, Zuna eventually hit the late game point for Kog'Maw and some brilliant initiations from Bloodwater and the gold levels of Zuna and Bloodwater would make them much too powerful for Cloud 9 to handle, allowing Vulcun to take the victory.
Game 2 would feel as if a whole new Curse was born following their victory from yesterday. Curse Gaming looked to be riding the hype train from their previous win and drove it into a positive force this game. Nearly no one underperformed from Curse Gaming and things were really starting to look up for them against Coast. Coast would face utter defeat, barely managing to land a scratch on this new and improved Curse Gaming.
In the classic rematch of Counter Logic Gaming vs Team Solomid, the most incredible bout between the two teams up to this point would occur. Spanning nearly an hour but with CLG holding a gigantic turret edge, the game still came down to a nailbiting conclusion.
After the elongated span, CLG would eventually take the win with Nientonsoh grabbing a triple kill and triple inhib single handedly. If you haven't seen the game, make sure to watch it when the VODs go live!
Finally, the night ended with a very anticlimatic Dignitas game vs Velocity eSports, where Scarra thrived off the crowd's energy and put on an absolutely stunning display of Zed, allowing the rest of his team to also secure an easy victory to end the night.
