In Week 2 of the European LCS, SK seeks to break their losing streak by beating Ninjas in Pyjamas, while Evil Geniuses goes old school versus Lemondogs
Stumbling and at the bottom of the standings, both SK and NiP are in dire need for a win this summer season. Bjergsen and the boys are having visions of past season's abyssmal standing, while Ocelote and his army are getting crushed by the pressure from both the fans and their management. This is reflected in their picks and bans, when NiP opted for a sustained teamfight lineup, while SK chose an all-in dive comp.
While NiP looked good at the start of the game, quickly taking down the top turret with a 3-man dive, they seemed to not have a clue about what to do next. Sk, on the other hand, had a really solid avenue of attack, especially with Kev1n now having a long lane to free farm in. As they took dragon after dragon, tower after tower, it is obvious that they were just making NiP run around in circles. Bjergsen playing poorly on Orianna certainly didn't help his team, even resulting in him having two Seeker's Armguards. With a cerebral approach, SK ground down NiP and not only escaped their slump, also seemed to look much, much better.

Both in the middle of the pack, Lemondogs and Evil Geniuses are out to get ahead in the standings. LD chose a strong initiation comp, with emphasis on assassination and focusing hard on one target. EG, after trying so hard to adjust to the new meta, used their tried and tested method of grinding down their opponents to the late game, with a interesting variation of spreading out their opponents.
The game was something pulled out of a history book. With a clever red steal from Snoopeh, the ex-CLG.EU carefully and systematically dismantled the rookies in a display familiar from a season past. Tabzz and the rest couldn't seem to catch a break, as EG kept putting pressure on all lanes, makin them lose global objectives, eventually having to let go of their own buffs. While not the most exciting of matches, EG used their superior teamfighting and map control to take the game in 49 minutes, which. by their standards. is pretty average.
