After their victorious debut in the LCS, Velocity eSports immediately fell into a five-game slump and were desperate to pick up a win against Team Coast, who just came off a loss in their revenge match with Dignitas. VES chose a heavy-hitting comp with Vileroze's Xerath pelting the enemy team with spells and Cris' Zed on clean up duty. CST went for a more, HAM-oriented team with every single member of team, sans Daydreamin, willing to go deep; Nami was chosen as a safety.
The early and mid game was simply a slugfest. Ganks were answered with ganks, dives with dives; VES exited the midgame having a slight advantage due to a lead in towers. Zionspartan put on a ton of pressure in the side lanes, forcing VES to break up their teamfight advantage and send Cris down to duel with him. Because of VES' carry being isolated, CST became the stronger team in these skirmishes and took a commanding lead. By the time the entire team grouped up, the sheer amount of damage combined with Shiptur's great initiations with Lissandra put another mark into VES' losing streak.

For the final game of the week in the NA LAS, it was a bout between two Spring top teams, stumbling and trying to get back into the groove. Scarra and co. chose a pick-focused squad with Blitzcrank, Evelynn and Leesin, while CRS pulled out a TSM, with Shen, Nocturne, and Karthus. Edward on Leona was quite surprising, and complimented the all-out dive strategy they were going for.
It seems that CRS is finally getting their stride back, as they showed great coordination with their skills, which were vital to the success of their comp. While DIG was able to gain some sort of advantage early on, their team was simply not built to bash with their opponents head on. Patoy's grabs onto Nyjacky were also disastrous for his team, as Karthus simply melted them down without the use of flash. With great teamfighting, Saint and his men got themselves a win and ended the week more confident than ever.
