M5 eases through first group stage

The group stage of The Siege is coming to a close, with Group A already complete. Moscow Five surprised nobody by breezing through their group without dropping a map.

In a fairly weak group, MYM were the only team to fall foul of the strange format. With three of the four teams going through to the next round, last spot is especially galling, but that’s where Mokkate and co find themselves after three rounds.

Group A
Team Points wins losses
Russia Moscow 5 9 3 0
Gamehoppers Myrmidons 6 2 1
Germany LogiX 3 1 2
Poland Meet Your Makers 0 0 3

Groups B and C both have quite a long way to go, with only a handful of games played. The favourites for Group B, SK Gaming, fell victim to their own instability, giving a disappointing forfeit victory to Acer, who currently top the group. The only other game played so far saw SK take a surprisingly close 2-1 victory over Alternate. Meanwhile, Curse EU sit atop Group C with two wins from two. A win against Absolute Legends in their final game will guarantee them top spot in the group. TT Dragons will also face AL in their final game, but need a win in order to avoid the wooden spoon.

Finally, Group D only has a couple of games remaining, with Mouz sitting pretty on maximum points. A hard-fought victory for x6 this evening puts them on the board, and leaves Megashock without a point. TmsK have just one game to try and avoid finishing bottom of the group, but since that game is against Fnatic it looks grim for Cowtard’s team.
