Sadly, not much has changed since we examined the group stage statistics, the only real difference being Jayce pushing out Skarner from the “Most banned” (and “Most wanted”) and Anivia climbing higher in that same table due to CLG.eu’s deep run. A shame, really, considering the preference for long-range poke compositions by both TPA and Frost and how Skarner eats them for breakfast.
In “Most picked”, Corki fell out to make way for Maokai, the most popular jungler of the tournament with a good lead ahead of both Skarner and Udyr. Corki’s absence from the playoffs’ top ten is mainly due to 1) the hegemony of Ezreal in the pick phase and 2) non-Ezreal picks going to Kog’Maw and even Vayne, barely keeping Corki outside the top five.
What is going to change by the end of the tournament? Considering that we have TPA vs Frost In the finals, expect the “Times banned” numbers of Anivia and Orianna to spike up as AZF are probably smart enough to ban out Toyz who likes to not die, ever. Sadly, this might very well be it: CloudTemplar will be playing, meaning Shen will be banned or picked and one Shy is not enough to push up the Jaxes and Singeds in the top 5.
Since all teams played different number of matches, players are rated by their average KDA coefficients and CS scores.
Statistics are only taken from the games that finished properly (i.e. games that were remade are not accounted for)
As CS for supports is irrelevant stat, total gold has been calculated instead in table three.
Statistics are from playoffs only. For group stage stats, see here.

Before you queue all the jokes about Chinese farmers and whatnot, let’s first remember that it took CLG.eu and WE about three hours to finish their series with Weixiao breaking 500+ creeps in one of the games. All this is to say that the overwhelming duration of the CLG/WE match, combined with the fact that this was the only match the Chinese played, skews the statistics in their favor so do have that in mind.
As we can all agree that CS numbers are just boring, let’s take a look at the KDA ratios while simultaneously gathering provisions to build a temple of Toyz as his 13.25 KDA coefficient needs to be worshipped by the thousands. TPA’s AP died only four times for all of his five games, all of those deaths being in the game against Moscow 5 when TPA were just obliterated. Aside from that, Toyz has been a perfect mid for the Taiwanese team. His Orianna and Anivia are flawless and I can’t imagine a scenario where he’s not target-banned in the grand finals. CloudTemplar is here once again, proving that there is just no better jungler than him in this tournament and if the CLG/WE game did not go on for ages, he’d probably be in the lead CS-wise as well.
A pattern that repeats itself from the group stage analysis is that farmed/fed AD carries do not translate as a win. Where we previously had Yellowstar and Kid we now see Chaox and Weixiao, both bot laners for teams that didn’t play more than one series.

The grand finals are a day and some change away and we can either wait or speculate. As waiting is never particularly productive and we're all deep in
The results from the previous matches have made it very clear as to which of the players need to be hate-banned. For Azubu Frost the target is even more obvious: Toyz has been the main killing machine on TPA and the way he handles Orianna and Anivia is stunning and those two champions are probably going to take the bench in the better part of the games. There remains the question "What about the third ban" and it's a bit tricky here, all depending on if AZF think they are capable of dealing with TPA's split pushing. If yes, then it's likely to see a Jayce ban against Stanley or a Maokai shut-down against Lilballz.
On the other side of the battlefield, TPA need to think of a way to cripple AZF's playmakers, namely Shy and CloudTemplar but, more importantly, decide how much ban attention they want to give to each of them. One would say it's a safe bet that Jax will be scratched off but this still leaves a whole plethora of champions for AZF to abuse. We could assume that Shen will too be banned (or taken away) and possibly Skarner as 6th ban since he works so well against long-ranged compositions as we already mentioned.
Going into picks and starting from the top down, the bruiser role is certain to be heavily contested. If Jayce, Jax and Shen end up permabanned, a repeat appearance of Singed and Nidalee is not unlikely and neither are Irelia and Malphite, the two being very contested picks in both metas.
If Orianna and Anivia are never allowed past the ban phase, this leaves Karthus and Vladimir as the hottest picks for mid with Karthus probably ending up being the earlier pick. In the AD carry department it's also very standard: Frost will continue to first pick Ezreal whenever they can and go for Miss Fortune whenever TPA bans/steals him away.
Expect the fight for the jungle to be as vicious as in the top lane since both CloudTemplar and Lilballz have been working wonders in the previous matches. Maokai is a popular pick in both teams and as I don't expect him to be banned due to other targets with higher priority he's likely to be a contested early pick. At the absence of Skarner and Shen, this leaves Mundo and Udyr tied for second.
