ESL KOTH: Check vs. Lyn

[s]event[/s]

The 16th of November, the ESL King of the Hill WE.Check took on a challenger in the form of Play`Lyn, who replaced a Storm that could not make it. Were Lyn to take the crown from Check, or were Check going to defeat Lyn just as he did with ElakeDuck, Sky or GoStop? The answer can be found below.

Last King of the Hill stood between the King of the Hill WE.Check and another Korean star player - mouz.GoStop. There it turned out to be a very even match, with Check coming out on top with 3-2. After that, not much was heard about King of the Hill at ESL, but a couple of days ago they finally announced a new King of the Hill match - WE.Check versus Play`Storm. However, as the match drew nearer, Storm was replaced by his team mate Play`Lyn.

The match was played three days ago, November 16th at 17:00 CET, and here's how it emerged:

Korea WE.Check > Korea Play`Lyn @ Secret Valley
Korea WE.Check < Korea Play`Lyn @ Maelstrom
Korea WE.Check > Korea Play`Lyn @ Turtle Rock
Korea WE.Check > Korea Play`Lyn @ Gnoll Wood
Replays: 1, 2, 3, 4

Check coming out on top yet again with 3-1! Who will be able to beat WE.Check in this ESL King of the Hill? It will certainly be interesting to see who will get the next chance of picking on Check. Perhaps Storm will be asked again, and will actually be there on time? It is time to see a Human player in WC3L according to many (including myself).

Storm not showing up a major let-down

Many people would like to see another match-up instead of the same old Night Elf versus Orc, or Undead. The ESL administration tried their best with putting Check up against Storm who is a Human player, but as he did not show up, Lyn had to step up. "Such a let-down. I was looking forward to a good four-five games of HU vs NE, but instead we got another Orc vs NE showmatch, IMO a boring matchup unless innovation rears. Too bad Storm didn't make it." writes LukeSkywalker in the comments over at WC3L, which were one of many let-down comments. Hopefully the next King of the Hill series will attract the viewers a bit more. Nevertheless, congratulations to Check, and we look forward to the next round!
