As the Honcast Tournament IV Grand Finals were set to finish, the HoN community was looking forward to an exciting bunch of games between KDe Gaming and t7H - Take it to the House, aka B0SS.After a promising start, however, things ended disappointingly. Here's the match report:
KDe vs t7H
Bans are Engineer, Zephyr, Chipper, Fayde, Defiler and Hellbringer, nothing out of the ordinary. t7H gets first pick, and goes Soul Reaper. KDe follows with Demented Shaman and Glacius. t7H gets Slither and Plague Rider. The first proper carry is next, with KDe going Soulstealer, not any surprise there. Pestilence is picked along with him. t7H's final picks are Arachna and Accursed, a slightly uncommon carry with good ganking potential and one of the best support heroes in the game. KDe's final pick is Forsaken Archer, a strong pusher as well as a decent carry.
Lineups are:
KDe:
Levent - Forsaken Archer
Overpow - Pestilence
H4nn1 - Soulstealer
Kebap - Demented Shaman
Mag1X - Glacius
t7H:
Dewiz - Arachna
Bleek - Slither
Berry - Plague Rider
Amingo - Soul Reaper
MFDOOM - Accursed
Lanes are Soulstealer vs Arachna mid, Forsaken Archer/Glacius vs Slither/Plague Rider top and Demented Shaman/Pestilence vs Soul Reaper/Accursed bottom.
First and second blood goes to t7H in bottom lane, with Soul Reaper doing some excellent Judgments and auto-attacks with Accursed's help. Demented Shaman drops first, and Pestilence almost makes it out via the river, but the creeps chasing him are too much in combination with SR's aura, and he falls as well.
t7H don't hold the lead for long though, as Forsaken Archers uses a clutch Mana Battery and gets the kill on both Slither and Plague Rider, tying it up 2-2 after 4 minutes.
Soulstealer is getting the advantage of Arachna mid, with thanks to a Double Damage rune, sitting at max souls easily. Nothing much happens until the 9minute mark, where Forsaken Archer and Glacius getting a kill each, FA again dropping low, but saving herself with the Mana Battery.
At the 11 minute mark, H4nn1's Soulstealer gets the kill on Dewiz's Arachna in mid, and proceeds to damage down the mid tower. Invulnerability is used at the last second, and Arachna teleports back in, but Soulstealer gets the tower kill and then uses a bottled Invisibility rune to escape. It doesn't end there however, with H4nn1 drinking up his entire bottle, calling Glacius down from top, and then goes in to kill Arachna yet again with a few well-aimed Demon Hands with the Ice Imprisonment aid from Glacius in between.
Soulstealer is now by far top farmer in the game, both gold and exp-wise, sitting at 350/500 per minute, respectively, already at level 10 at the 12 minute mark.
At this point, Berry playing Plague Rider disconnects, and after a long long pause (what would a competitive game be without it?) t7H says they'll have to go without him. A teammate immediately uses Plague Rider's ultimate and almost kills Glacius, but not quite. Seconds after Glacius teleports away, Forsaken Archer's Crippling Blow and Piercing Arrows along with H4nn1's portal key initiation gets a double kill on Slither and Plague Rider.
All semblance of even trying anymore goes out the window, as t7H pretty much gives the game up for lost, MFDOOM walks his Accursed into KDe's base and hides in the forest, taunting them saying "I ain't scurd!" only to get killed. t7H concedes at the 15minutes mark.
A disappointing ending, but KDe had a strong lead anyway, so it wasn't quite the disconnect that gave them the loss.
There is no sign of t7H's berry, so t7H goes ahead and forfeits the next game. KDe takes home the victory, after a strong start, but no real ending, sadly.
