The last day of the German RaceWar decided which race was going to end up in second place, and which team would go home with no win at all. It ended like the Zerg captain predicted - a win for the Protoss team.
Yesterday the German RaceWar ended. After the Zerg team's convincing wins over the other two races (6-3 in both), the Terran and the
Protoss were set up to play for the runner-up spot. The Zerg captain
BetrayaL had earlier said that he predicted the Protoss team to win, and he was right. It ended in a humiliating way, FiSheYe[pG] teaching the Terran team a lesson with four straight wins.
ash.doLife ended FiSheYe's spree
To prevent the match from ending in a 6-0 score for the Protoss team,
ash.doLife stood up against FiSheYe, and gave the Terran team a comfort point. But the Protoss team's next player was Socke[pG], who won two straight games, ending the event in a win for the sons of Aiur.

A coincidence that the Zerg team won?
The Swedish and the German RaceWar ended surprisingly enough exactly the same. Is it the fact that the European Zerg players are much better than the Terran and the Protoss players? Does Europe have a high standard on their Zerg players? GosuGamers asked various people in the European community, and here's how some of the people had to say.
"Hmm I think it's just because at least germany have a lot more good zergplayers then terran or protossplayers. I think it really depends on the country an their players, at least here in germany. In the swedish racewar there was a lack of some top players too imo. So I dont think Zerg is some kind of imbalanced. Maybe they're a little bit easier to play, but i dont think that counts on such a level." - BetrayaL |
"I don't think there is, not anymore. Back in the day toss was by far strongest in europe (when naz and saft were active, among others.), then terran became very good. And now zerg is also good. Germany isn't all of Europe. I think a racewar in europe could go either way, although I'd be surprised if toss ended up winning." - Eriador |
"In Germany there is a higher on the Zerg players, in the rest of Europe it's pretty even and the result in the Swedish RaceWars was a coincidence according to myself. It wasn't exactly that the maps didn't favour Zerg as well." - Dealer |
"I think the ZvP level of European Zergs is very high, otherwise I'm not sure :P" - WhiZ |
