Poker Pro Al Krux Caught with 25 Pounds of Marijuana

Three-time WSOP Main Event final table participant Al Krux was arrested Wednesday for possession of 25 pounds of marijuana when he was stopped in his vehicle by Dewitt, New York police. His 32-year old son Adam was also arrested around the same time with 15 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.

The two will face additional charges after roughly 90 marijuana plants were found in their home. Adam was also caught with cocaine.

Al Krux was a well known World Series of Poker participant having won a bracelet in 1996 in a $1,500 PLO event for $156,375 and three WSOP main event final tables. He finished 6th in 1990 ($58,450), 5th in 1994 ($100,800) and 6th in 2004 ($800,000) whhere is his most remembered on TV being eliminated by that year’s winner Greg "Fossilman" Raymer.

The 68-year-old Krux was a poker player for the past 45 years accumulating over $1.4 million in live cashes since 1981. He was known for his ability to read players.

The two Krux's are currently being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center with individual $20,000 bail set on each.

The 40lbs of cannabis confiscated by police is estimated to be worth around $200,000 or $5,000 per pound. The police were tipped off on the Krux's and it has brought a sad ending to what was a respected poker career for Krux.
