Current Champion Bord Insists Americans Won't Win WSOPE

The 2010 Worlds Series of Poker Europe Main Event winner known for speaking his mind has issued the controversial statement that he feels an American won't win this year's Main Event. Brit James Bord feels U.S. players are no longer a dominating force in the game.

In an interview with PokerNewsUK, Bord stated "USA can't win WSOPE Main Event.

We used to look up to the U.S. players back in the day, but those days are now long gone. I'm prepared to put my money where my mouth is and refund any losing bets up to $500 if an American wins."
Seemingly controversial, the numbers will likely bear out Bord's prediction. American poker players will make up a small percentage of the Main Event in Cannes, France so the likelihood of an American winning is small based on the numbers.

As for Bord, he seems to relish his role for speaking his mind. At the 2011 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, he confronted Full Tilt pro John Juanda venting his frustration with Full Tilt Poker holding onto customer funds in the wake of Black Friday, allegedly using strong language like calling Juanda a "disgusting human being", a "fake", a "thieving prick", and a "disgrace". After the confrontation, it was learned that the conflict grew out of their interaction in the massive Macau cash games that both played in earlier in 2011.
