Geralt is heading into Diablo IV as CD Projekt RED and Blizzard turn a decades-old connection into a new collaboration.
CD Projekt RED and Blizzard Entertainment are teaming up for a new collaboration bringing The Witcher 3 and Diablo IV together. The developer behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt announced the partnership in a press release, with plans involving The Witcher 3 Remastered, Songs of the Past, Battle.net, and a new Diablo IV crossover. CD Projekt RED also shared more about the collaboration in a separate post on its website.
This is not the first time the two companies have worked together. In 1998, CD PROJEKT was Blizzard Entertainment's official distributor in Poland, helping to bring games including StarCraft to players in the country.
The Witcher 3 and Diablo IV crossover includes a Geralt skin
As part of the collaboration, players who purchase Songs of the Past on Battle.net will receive a Geralt-inspired skin in Diablo IV. The skin will become available when pre-orders for the expansion open, and will also be available to players who buy Songs of the Past when it launches in 2027.
CD Projekt RED has yet to reveal what the cosmetic looks like or share further details about how Geralt will be represented in Diablo IV. "Bringing these games to Battle.net is just the beginning of our partnership with Blizzard," Expert Community & Social Media Manager Amelia Korzycka said. Korzycka added that teams at both studios are working together on the skin, while CD Projekt RED is also preparing more surprises tied to the partnership.
The Witcher 3 Remastered and Songs of the Past are coming to Battle.net
The collaboration will also bring both of CD Projekt RED's upcoming Witcher 3 releases to Blizzard's PC platform. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will launch on Battle.net on 29 September, 2026 alongside other platforms. The Battle.net announcement follows CD Projekt RED's latest round of Witcher 3 news at Gamescom Opening Night Live, where the studio revealed Remastered, and announced that Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are now available at no additional cost to everyone who owns the base game.
Songs of the Past will follow on Battle.net in 2027. The upcoming expansion sends Geralt to Letten, an idyllic land shaped by rural tradition and folklore that hides a dark secret beneath the surface. CD Projekt RED is co-developing Songs of the Past with Fool's Theory, whose leadership includes Witcher 3 veterans.
CD Projekt RED shared more about the partnership on its Beyond the Game Blog, with more still to come at BlizzCon 2026 in September. The studio plans to show off the Geralt-inspired Diablo IV skin, and reveal more about what it is working on with Blizzard.
