What is Rainbow Six Tactics?

Ubisoft is taking the Rainbow Six franchise in a new direction with its next installment: Rainbow Six Tactics. The upcoming game is a tactical turn-based game in the vein of franchises like XCOM, focusing on a squad of familiar Operators from the franchise returning to take on a new threat.

Rainbow Six Tactics features an isometric gameplay style with a top-down perspective, instead of Rainbow Six Siege’s first-person perspective. The game will also feature a single-player campaign, with players tasked with controlling a team of Operators as they embark on globe-trotting missions.

Rainbow Six Tactics has 15 different playable classes with unique gadgets and weapons. The game will take place in the same universe as Rainbow Six Siege, with some Operators returning from the game. It should be noted that this is also the Rainbow Six franchise’s first single-player game in more than a decade, following 2008’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Rainbow Six Tactics launches sometime in 2027.
