Ghost of Yōtei is officially getting a new story expansion.
PlayStation Studios and Sucker Punch Productions revealed Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition this week, bringing even more content to the open-world action-adventure game in October. This edition of the game will add a combat survival mode and all-new story expansion called Echoes of Sekigahara.

What is the new Ghost of Yōtei story expansion?
Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition launches on 1 October, 2026 with quite a bit of new content for players old and new to chew on. This edition of the game packs in the original game and all previously-released paid DLC from the Deluxe Edition, along with new content like a survival mode and story expansion. Several quality-of-life updates will also be simultaneously released via a free patch.
First off, Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara is a brand-new story expansion much like Ghost of Tsushima’s Iki Island expansion, adding a new region to explore along with more story content. This expansion will include flashbacks to Atsu’s time in the Battle of Sekigahara, where players can learn more about a key moment of her life before she returned home in a quest for revenge.
The expansion will also add new heavy weapons for Atsu, more armour sets, more dyes, and even more enemies to contend with.
What is Ghost of Yōtei’s Most Wanted survival mode?
Ghost of Yōtei is adding another new game mode, on top of the existing co-op Legends mode. Most Wanted is a singleplayer combat survival mode with roguelike elements. In this mode, you’ll accept bounties to start new runs, and eliminate enemies to unlock perks. New playable characters can also be unlocked in this mode, such as Oyuki, Nagato, and Atsu herself. Each character will master a different weapon.
How much is Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition?
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will cost US$69.99 at launch for players who haven’t purchased the original game. This edition of the game includes Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, the base game, and Legends. Buyers will be able to immediately start playing the main game and Legends, but the story expansion and Most Wanted will only launch on 1 October.
This version of the game also includes all Deluxe Edition DLC and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. Anyone who picks up the game by 30 September will also unlock the Sakai Armour on 1 October earlier, as a throwback to Ghost of Tsushima’s protagonist Jin Sakai.
However, anyone who already owns Ghost of Yōtei will be able to unlock Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted by buying the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Upgrade for US$14.99. Pre-ordering the upgrade will also unlock the Deluxe Edition and Charm of Hokkyokusei content, and the Sakai Armour will also be unlocked early for those who make the purchase by 30 September.
Ghost of Yōtei October 2026 content updates
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition will also add new tracks for the in-game Watanabe Mode, along with new photo mode stamps, more New Game+ cosmetics, and new Trophies. A free 1 October patch will also add a Beauty of Yōtei mode with screensaver-like views of Ezo, along with more quality-of-life features like transmogrification.
