Many players can't seem to wait to re-experience Claire Redfield's fight for survival.
There is clearly no shortage of players ready to revisit Rockfort Island, with Capcom revealing that Resident Evil Veronica has already surpassed two million wishlists ahead of its planned 2027 release. On Resident Evil's official X (formerly Twitter) account, Capcom shared a photo of the elderly woman seen in the recent Resident Evil Veronica trailer. "2 million biscuits for the 2 million of you who've wishlisted Resident Evil Veronica. Thank you!" the post read.

Why is Resident Evil Code: Veronica getting a remake?
Resident Evil Code: Veronica had long been one of the franchise's most requested remakes. When Capcom conducted a survey in 2023, the 2000 spin-off ranked among the Resident Evil games that players most wanted to see remade.
Although Resident Evil Code: Veronica did not match the sales of its mainline counterparts when it launched in 2000, that was partly due to its debut on the Sega Dreamcast, which struggled commercially. Despite its modest commercial performance, Resident Evil Code: Veronica received widespread critical acclaim upon release, earning a 94 on Metacritic, and mostly 9/10 and 4/5 scores across different gaming publications at the time.
Capcom later released an expanded version, Resident Evil Code: Veronica X, for the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 in 2001, followed by an HD remaster in 2011. More than two decades later, that enduring popularity and long-standing demand have culminated in Resident Evil Veronica.
Since unveiling Resident Evil Veronica during Summer Game Fest, Capcom has confirmed that the remake will be a third-person title in line with its recent Resident Evil remakes. Set three months after the events of Resident Evil 2, the game is currently slated for release in 2027.
