The Doomguy is back in hell, but he’s got a new weapon to make up for it.
Doom: The Dark Ages is officially getting an expansion entitled Revelations, giving the game an all-new campaign addition on 7 July, 2026. The new campaign will feature new levels, new demon types, and an all-new throwable weapon called the Chain Spear.

What is Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations about?
Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations is a hefty story DLC focusing on the Doomguy (or Doom Slayer, whichever you fancy)’s continuing battle against the forces of hell. This time around, the Doomguy has been thrust into a purgatory of sorts, only escapable by forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally and confronting haunting truths.
To ascend from a prison made up from his own mind, he’ll have to fight an abomination of the gods. Here’s a description of the id Software-made expansion, courtesy of YouTube:
“Wounded and betrayed, the Slayer is thrust into a merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths and forging new strength with the help of a mysterious ally. He must ascend from the prison of his mind and fight an abomination of the gods to set his followers on the path to freedom.
“Featuring new levels with deeper puzzles, new demons, and new mysteries, Revelations opens up a whole new dimension of combat. The all-new deadly Chain Spear offers returning slayers a uniquely satisfying combat system – one that rewards mastery with enhanced power and mobility.”
The new Chain Spear weapon can be seen in the trailer, giving the Doomguy an all-new addition to his arsenal. This expansion will also arrive with a free update that adds Ripatorium 3.0. The update adds deeper customisation, improved pass code generation, and personal preset options to the game’s customisable arena challenge mode.
Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations owners will also get three new additional maps, demons, and fully upgraded new weapons to use in the Ripatorium.
How to get Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations
Doom: The Dark Ages | Revelations will be bundled together with Doom: The Dark Ages Premium Edition or the game’s Collectors Bundle. Base game owners can also buy the expansion as a standalone add-on for US$19.99.
