Blizzard is officially ready to show off “The Next Chapter.”
Blizzard Entertainment has officially confirmed a series of game showcases happening over the next two weeks, as the company prepares to show players “What’s Next” for its iconic franchises.
Separate livestreams have been scheduled for World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Diablo, with each livestream aiming to show players the future of each franchise.
Blizzard Entertainment sets showcases for Overwatch, Diablo, World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone
Blizzard released a nostalgic video this week, showing off decades’ worth of PC rigs running games from its various franchises–from Starcraft and Diablo, to World of Warcraft and Overwatch. The game publisher is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, but the video isn't meant to simply celebrate the occasion; it also hints that Blizzard is already hard at work on the next big thing.
Coinciding with the video’s release, Blizzard confirmed that four separate game showcases have been scheduled for World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Overwatch, and Diablo, dated from 29 January to 11 February. Here are the full dates and times for the livestreams:
- 30 January at 4:00 a.m. AEST/UTC+8–“World of Warcraft State of Azeroth”
- 5 February at 5:00 a.m. AEST/UTC+8–“Overwatch Spotlight”
- 10 February at 4:30 a.m. AEST/UTC+8–“Hearthstone Spotlight”
- 12 February at 9:00 a.m. AEST/UTC+8–“Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight”
Each game showcase will be streamed on the relevant title’s YouTube and Twitch accounts. The exact contents of the showcases were not detailed, but Blizzard has at least confirmed that the streams will feature “a series of developer-led spotlights packed with major game launch announcements from across Blizzard’s universes.”
The video above happens to end with a few logos of iconic Blizzard franchises, though notably, two of these titles have not been given showcases: Starcraft and Heroes of the Storm. It looks like Blizzard still considers both franchises important enough to include them in its 35th anniversary celebrations, however, so hopefully we’ll see more from them down the line.
Blizzard is also set to host BlizzCon 2026 from 12–13 September, 2026.
