New Resident Evil Survival Unit cinematic trailer teases returning bosses

Resident Evil Survival Unit has unveiled a new cinematic trailer.

Capcom’s upcoming mobile strategy game Resident Evil Survival Unit launches later this year, and it has the trailer to prove it. This week, the game publisher launched a cinematic trailer for the game featuring musical artist Queen Bee, showing off its cast of playable characters and enemy bosses.

Here’s the video:

Resident Evil Survival Unit cinematic trailer teases… zombie Sephiroth?

Aniplex has released a new cinematic trailer for Resident Evil Survival Unit, showing off a few of its playable characters, almost all of whom return from previous titles in the franchise. Among their ranks are the unnamed protagonist, Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Carlos Oliveira.

The trailer also highlights a few of the game’s bosses, who also return from other Resident Evil games. Fans will recognise Resident Evil 2’s mutant alligator, Mr. X, Nemesis, and more. The trailer also shows off a winged angelic monster with Medusa-like snakes writhing on its head. This creature is called Mortem, designed by Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D).

If the animation looks familiar to Resident Evil fans, that might be because it comes from animation studio Quebico, which also worked on the recent Resident Evil: Death Island film. Japanese rock band Queen Bee also provided the trailer’s theme song, entitled Mountain Hunt.

Resident Evil Survival Unit is a mobile strategy game co-developed with Joycity Corporation, Capcom, and Aniplex. The game is set to launch globally sometime in 2025 in Japan, Korea, North America, Europe, and other Asian regions.
