Fun fact: The most downloaded mod is WIthers' "Big Naturals."
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have done it all: from speedrunning Honour Mode at Level 1 to adopting in-game children and turning Withers into something... unholy.
Now, to mark the RPG’s second anniversary, developer Larian Studios is celebrating by sharing a set of hilarious, strange, and genuinely impressive community stats: a fitting tribute to two years of chaos, creativity, and cursed mods.
Apparently over 4,000 people thought ‘what if I never levelled up?’

The stats reveal that more than 1.1 million players have completed the game on Tactician Mode, and nearly 500,000 have taken on the even tougher Honour Mode, where there’s only one save file and no room for mistakes. Among those, a shocking 4,647 players cleared the entire game without ever levelling past Level 1, while 31,180 triumphed with the Jack of All Trades build.
Other players got a little more… experimental. A dedicated 2.07% managed to defeat 20 enemies while drunk, while 8.21% used an enemy as an improvised weapon against another. Larian seemed especially amused that 350 players respecced fan-favourite Minsc into a Death Domain Cleric, asking, “Are you folks doing okay?”

And in one of the more wholesome stats, 598 players chose to adopt a child with Wyll, proving there’s still room for softness between battles with mind flayers.
Yes, the most downloaded mod is Withers' "Big Naturals"
Since official mod support was added in Patch 7, players have downloaded more than 265 million mods. Among them, one stands out, Withers’ “Big Naturals”, a community creation that gives the skeletal NPC Withers a large and anatomically questionable enhancement. The mod has been downloaded over 250,000 times, making it one of the most popular in the game’s history.
Elsewhere, Larian revealed that only 3.87% of players defeated Gortash in Wyrm’s Rock without triggering traps, though Steam players were slightly more nimble, with 4.37% avoiding disaster.
What’s next for Larian?
Studio head Swen Vincke reflected on the two-year milestone in a message shared on social media, describing Baldur’s Gate 3 as “life changing” and hinting at the studio’s next major project. While it won’t be Baldur’s Gate 4, he said that the game gave them the opportunity to “do [their] next crazy thing.”
He added that the new game is already in the works and promised it’ll be “loads of fun… in a surprising way,” though fans will need to be patient while the team takes the time to “make it all work.”
There’s no timeline yet, but Larian’s next game is already in development—and if the last two years are anything to go by, fans can expect something just as ambitious.
In the meantime, you can view the full anniversary post and infographic over on Baldur’s Gate 3’s Steam page, complete with community screenshots, celebration messages, and all the wild stats Larian shared.
