SEGA and Atlus finally announce Persona 4 remake, Persona 4 Revival
SEGA and Atlus have announced Persona 4 Revival, its upcoming remake of its highly-beloved RPG Persona 4. The remake was long-rumoured to be in development, and later confirmed by several cast members of the original game. Said cast members–including Marvel’s Spider-Man’s Yuri Lowenthal–noted that they had been recast for the remake, as SEGA and Atlus appear to be keen on starting fresh.
We don’t have much to go on, due to the trailer only revealing a few seconds’ worth of footage showing off remade environments from Persona 4’s setting of Inaba. We also see the player-named protagonist running along its streets, as he is often seen doing in the main game, in a frantic effort to build up Social Links and diving into TV screens before running out of time.
The original Persona 4 served as a standalone tale in the anthology game franchise, set in a town called Inaba which has seen a string of mysterious murders. The protagonist of the story moves to Inaba and makes friends, while solving these mysterious murders using his ability to dive into another world through TV screens.
Persona 4 Revival does not have a release date.
