Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 picked up nine awards in total at Crunchyroll’s 2024 Anime Awards.
The winners of Crunchyroll’s annual Anime Awards have been announced, and Jujutsu Kaisen has - perhaps unsurprisingly - walked away with nine wins in total. The 2024 Anime Awards ceremony was held in Japan to celebrate the creators and actors involved in making the year’s best programs. Jujutsu Kaisen won the awards show’s highly coveted Anime of the Year award, in addition to eight more wins in separate categories.

Jujutsu Kaisen wins big at the 2024 Anime Awards
Jujutsu Kaisen saw a noticeable shift in direction last year, with the addition of director Shota Goshozono helming a far more action-packed Season 2. Rumblings of a hectic production schedule and overworked staff over at animation studio MAPPA began pouring out towards the end of the season, as viewers criticised uneven production quality in later episodes. Despite these controversies, however, the season has become rather successful in the eyes of anime fans - and certainly the 2024 anime awards season as a whole.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 picked up nine awards at the 2024 Anime Awards, including Best Supporting Character, Best Action, Best Cinematography and Best Character Design. MAPPA’s other big 2024 anime release, Chainsaw Man, was nominated in 25 categories but walked away with just two wins: Best Voice Artist Performance (English) and Best New Series. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc won Best Animation, Suzume won Best Film and One Piece won Best Continuing Series.
