2024 Emmy winners: Succession trumps The Last of Us in all categories

The Last of Us won multiple Creative Arts Emmys, but left the main show with zero wins.

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards have officially aired, celebrating 2023’s best TV programs and creators after being delayed from September 2023 due to the Hollywood actors’ and writers’ strikes. The show’s biggest winners were the HBO drama Succession and Hulu's The Bear. Netflix's dramedy Beef also picked up five awards, coming in third place for most wins in major categories. Succession and The Bear are tied with six wins each.

While The Last of Us did pick up a whopping eight awards at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards last weekend, the gaming adaptation was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor, Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Drama, among others at the Primetime Emmys. However, it lost in all nominated categories to Succession, which practically swept the Drama award categories while The Bear swept the Comedy categories.
