Bali Major becomes the most pricey Dota 2 event with tickets released at $888

Bali Major is set to be the last pit stop before The International 2023, but the secluded location and the high price for tickets are making it hard for the Dota 2 fans to attend it.

Presented by IO Esports and Epulze, the Bali Major will be held at Ayana Estate, one of the most luxurious vacation places one can find. The tournament will run from June 29 to July 9, but only the final three days in the playoffs, July 7-9 are open for live audience.

Even so, the ticket price is going to make this an impossible effort for most of the Dota 2 fans.

Bali Major tickets start at $388 before taxes

Ticket sales for the last Major of the year went live today, May 24 via Eventbrite with two categories of prices. A standard 3-day ticket is $388, while a premium 3-day ticket is $888. Both categories offer free seating, priority access to signing sessions and a goodie bag, the difference being made by the access to an exclusive after-party for the premium holders. The purchases are limited to 2 tickets per transaction and are not refundable under any circumstances.

Bali Major playoff portion with a live audience will be held at Champa Garden in Ayana Estate, an outdoor event space designed to host grand scale wedding ceremonies and receptions with a capacity of around 2000 guests.

While the scenery can’t be compared, the price is definitely setting this Major at the highest value for a Dota 2 event so far. For instance, the 2022 TI, which was considered until now the most pricey event, had tickets starting at $64 per day for mid-week days while a ticket that gave access to both final days was $361.

At the opposite pole, the previous Major, the Berlin Major was sold out with tickets going for sale at $300 for a 3-day premium experience and just $63 for a standard ticket purchase.

On the long road to The International 2023, the Bali Major will mark the last chance for the teams to grab precious Dota Pro Circuit points and secure a direct invite to the most important tournament of the year. The Bali Major will welcome 18 teams qualified via Summer Tour regional DPC leagues. It has a $500,000 total prize pool to offer and 3,500 DPC points which will be split between the top 8 placed teams.
