Wings Gaming are the first Grand Finalists of the Northern Arena BEAT Invitational

The upper bracket final saw a battle of the Chinese Dota teams with Wings Gaming going head-to-head with EHOME in a best-of-three for a spot in the Grand Finals.

Game One

The game began with EHOME on the front foot as they claimed both of the early game bounty runes, but Wings asserted their dominance in the first ten minutes and took a 5-2 lead in the kills. Wings had complete control of the game after twenty minutes, shutting down EHOME every time they engaged. Before thirty minutes had passed, Wings took the high ground mid and executed a quick almost complete team wipe. EHOME threw in the towel, giving Wings the win in game one.

Game Two

Game two started in a much more even way, with EHOME constantly putting pressure on Wings and claiming kills because of this. With ten minutes barely passed, EHOME found themselves at an 8-5 lead in the scoreline. Wings began to find their footing and make their way back into the game for the next ten minutes, but EHOME were still looking the stronger team, able to quell the threat. Even with their kill advantage, EHOME remained behind on the gold and experience graphs, but the game still looked largely in their favor.

With thirty minutes passed, EHOME continued to pressure the Wings towers, utilizing their Pudge to find great pick-offs and converting those kills into objectives. EHOME were able to continuously bring down the Wings line-up, and by 35 minutes Wings had no choice but to call GG, tying the series at 1-1 and moving it into a decisive game three.

Game Three

Once again the first ten minutes of this game were relatively even. While EHOME found early pick-offs, Wings took a single fight to bring themselves close to even, with EHOME holding a 5-3 lead. Moments after this point, Wings found a fantastic engagement and dropped four from the Dire line-up.

Wings began to take complete control of the game, continually picking up three or four from the EHOME line-up. EHOME found themselves making a comeback at the 32 minute mark, but Wings showed their power and shut EHOME down before they claimed an Aegis. This victory added to Wings' massive gold lead.

But another turn occurred when Wings attempted to go high ground, as EHOME managed to defend their tier three in the bot lane and took down two from the Radiant. With the game going back and forth for such a long time, it was Wings who took a massive team fight near the Dire secret shop. Chu 'Shadow' Zeyu claimed a double rampage on his Morphling. Soon after this, Wings went back in and found themselves the mid barracks.

EHOME tried to fight around the Rosh pit but ended up going down, and thus they had to call GG. Wings now move on to the Grand Finals of the Northern Arena BEAT Invitational.

The action is not over at the Northern Arena BEAT Invitational just yet for this evening as next up is the best-of-one elimination match EG vs Team NP, where the winner will go on to face EHOME in the lower bracket final. You can continue to follow the games and eliminations here.
