LGD Gaming withdrew from the ESL One Frankfurt 2016 only two days before the LAN event, citing health issues after the Manila Major. Their replacement will be Virtus.Pro.
With less than 48 hours before the group stage is set to begin, the organizers had to find a quick solution, which means this year’s edition of ESL One Frankfurt will not feature any Chinese team.
Virtus Pro, who finished the regional qualifiers in third position, after NA’VI and Vega Squadron, have been granted an invitation to participate at the LAN event. However, Ilya 'ALOHADANCE' Korobkin’s visa is still on a pending status. Therefore, the team will play with Maurice 'KheZu' Gutmann from No Diggity at least for the first matches of the group stage.
According to ESL, if Aloha receives his visa in time for the main event, starting Saturday, June 17th, he will be able to join his team. If not, VP will use KheZu for the entire event.
Virtus.Pro will take LGD’s place in Group B and will face compLexity Gaming in their first matchup, scheduled to start this Friday at 13:45 CEST.
