MVP Phoenix demolish EG for the second place finish in Group D

After MVP Phoenix played one of the craziest games we’ll probably ever see - and managed to break Tobiwan’s brain a little, they found themselves fighting for the second place spot in Group D and an upper bracket slot. Their opponents would be Evil Geniuses, who did not look solid in their opening games but who would definitely fight for an upper bracket spot.

Game One

Evil Geniuses started the game on the front foot, claiming three kills with no response before the five minute mark, and continued to gain a lead in the kill department up to the thirteen minute point, where MVPPhoenix started to find some much needed kills and farm. Both teams tried to claim map control, with MVP looking better off after claiming an Aegis and dropping most of EG’s line up twice in a short space of time.

As twenty five minutes passed, MVP removed the Radiant’s tier two mid tower and it wasn't long after this that EG threw in the towel and called GG.

Game Two

After a lengthy break, finally game two went into its pick and ban phase. MVP got off to the quick, strong start this time round, claiming six kills in under five minutes, with their Bristleback and Io dominating EG’s top lane. As the game wore on, EG continued to lose fight after fight to MVP’s aggressive line up and by the time fifteen minutes had passed they found themselves 15-6 down in the score line, with MVP having grabbed an aegis.

As seventeen minutes passed in game, MVP destroyed the EG line up once more and forced the boys in blue to call GG again; with dominant performances by MVP's Bristleback, Slardar and Io.

By defeating Evil Geniuses in the deciding match of Group D, Mvp Phoenix secured a well-deserved upper bracket seed at the Manila Major main event, starting Monday, 7th of June.
