XBOCT set to stand-in for Team Empire at The Game Show Global eSports Cup in place of Silent
According to a tweet by the Ukrainian e-sports caster Vitalii Volochai, Alexander 'XBOCT' Dashkevich will be standing in for Team Empire at the Game Show GEC Season 1 which will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania.
XBOCT will also assume the role of a carry replacing Ayrat 'Silent' Gaziev for the tournament. Prior to this, XBOCT was standing in for Hellraisers along with Ivan 'Ubah' Kapustin at the CIS qualifiers for Game Show GEC and StarLadder Group Stages. Post The International 5 with Natus Vincere, XBOCT hasn't played any LAN and this will be his first LAN in over four months. This certainly will act as an opportunity for him to get back into the scene.
As one of the most storied carries it certainly will be a treat to watch XBOCT back playing LAN - and with his years of experience we can expect him to boost Team Empire’s performance. XBOCT is known for his stellar performances with heroes like Naix and Alchemist. XBOCT will also re-unite with the ex Natus Vincere offlaner Gleb 'Funn1k' Lipatnikov.
Team Empire have not had the best of times recently and are trying to find appropriate replacements before locking the roster for the Winter Majors. Funn1k has been doing a great job with Empire at the DreamLeague and with XBOCT standing in, they hopefully can regain their lost form.
