Esportal League day two kicked off with group B deciding its first best of three series. The opening match from this group featured the favorites for this tournament, Team Empire facing 4 Clover & Lepicron.
Although they still have to build a name for themselves as a team, 4 Clover & Lepricon’s line up has five strong individuals with a heavy DotA background like Wagamama, a top streamer, EGM former TI champion, Vanskor CIS veteran, w33haa number one MMR in the world and SexyBamboe, a seasoned US dota player. The debut series versus Empire shown that 4 C&L do stand a chance in this competiton and their strength should not ne underestimated.
Although Empire claimed a clear 2-0 victory, the games were not an easy ride for the Russians who found themselves wiped out multiple times, losing crucial teamfights in Roshan’s pit or in their attempt to breach high ground. Wagamama and w33haa put up an impressive individual show, both of them being on mega kill streaks, but, at the end of the day, Empire had the superior drafts capable to secure the late game and win the games.
The other best of three series of day put face to face HellRaisers and 4 Anchors and Sea Captain. Forced to play with an incomplete roster due to release of van “Gorec” Kartankov and Artes “Artyom” Gorobey for whom they did not found replacements yet, HellRaisers came to Esportal League with two standins.
Even so, they managed to exhaust 4 ASC in a 67 minutes long game two. Having Afroninje on an insanely good Puck who went for an early Aghanim's Scepter seasoned with a Dagon 5, they dismantled their enemies into pieces in each and every fight, HR took an epic victory and forced 4ASC to a game three.
Unfortunately things didn’t go well for the Russian squad in the last game of the series. Allowing 4ASC to escape from the drafting stage with a Sven - Io duo and an Undying – Jakiro combo, they lost the mid game control and 35 minutes later the Finns closed the last game of the day.
Today’s games will decide first two teams to leave the competition. From group A we going to have at 17:00 CET mYinsanity facing Power Rangers and from 20:00 CET it will be 4 Clover & Lepricon’s turn to fight HellRaisers.
