Not more than two weeks past winning the RGN League title, FD has added another championship under their name. They won the Gigabyte Premiere League after defeating Execration 3-0 in the finals.
Execration was on a mean streak, knocking out teams like Mineski, MiTH.Trust and Lowyat in the lower bracket. First Departure, who moved into the finals via securing the upper bracket, was enjoying a one-game advantage in the best-of-five match-up even before the series started.
The Singaporean team didn't need much of an advantage though, as they ended up winning the tournament in straight games. While Exacration showed resistance, FD just put them down every time they tried to make a move. First Departure placed the final nail in the coffin as they defeated Xctn's Mirana, which the latter used on five of their six wins in the lower bracket of the second game last night. Meracle's replacement, Chibix, was very impressive and looks to be a very nice fit for the team.
First Departure will be participating in the Steelseries SEA Cup today and the Fengyun Championship this coming Monday. They can also secure the title of Southeast Asia's best team when they compete in a LAN event this coming 27-29, which is the Asian Cyber Games Dota 2 tournament, also known as The Asia.
Prize distribution:
1. First Departure - $1,000
2. Execration - $500
