iG punches their ticket to G-League 2013 finals

Invictus Gaming keeps up their strong play as they convincingly eliminate LGD in the semifinals of G-League with the score of 2-0.

iG has been in good form as of late, and today is no different as they handed LGD two straight defeats. iG is also LGD's lone conqueror on the group stage of this tournament. With the win, Invictus Gaming has guaranteed themselves a purse of $8,200.

The other team joining the finals will be determined on the TongFu-DK match-up later today. You can place your bets here.

Game 1

The teams focused on strong mid-game lineups, with both of them skipping out agility-based heroes on the first match. It was also the classic jungle war between Chen and Enchantress on opposing teams. With both teams having big AoE capabilities, the early game was very crucial for both of them.

It was iG who seized the advantage in the early stages, as they picked off Batrider a couple of times and then established map control by taking down most of the outer towers. They extended their lead by playing their advantage correctly, claiming two consecutive unchallenged Roshan kills. With only Outworld Destroyer having substantial farm on LGD, iG took the middle lane barracks on the 32nd minute with almost all of their heroes still on full HP.

LGD had force staff on all of their heroes, but it seems to have been a bad idea as iG is just sieged uphill easily with the tanky Bristleback and Dragon Knight. The game ended on the 40th minute after great execution by iG on their top-lane push, accentuated with a full duration Freezing Field.

Game 2

LGD once again shied away from an agility carry, this time going with a Doom for their main carry. Meanwhile, iG shifted into a big right-click line-up of Spectre, Kunkka and Nature's Prophet.

LGD had a slightly better early game, primarily because of Chen's jungle and Doom's devour. However, it wasn't long until iG eventually inched themselves back. iG chose their engagements well, and they were able to give kills on the usually early-game handicapped Spectre. Their global presence kept the pressure on LGD, and iG is able to pick off isolated heroes with the Haunt and Teleportation. The Spectre is already getting out of reach for LGD, farming up a Phase Boots, Drums, Manta, Radiance, and 500 gold of a Heat of Tarasque by the 33rd minute. Just when the game seems over, LGD did a good job in defending high ground, where they were able to kill four heroes of iG while burning out the Aegis and forcing a buyback on the oher one. This success came in over a bigger victory, which was successfully defending their barracks.

iG recomposed themselves, and then went for another push. This time they went in on the top-lane, and this time gained the upperhand. Without a massive Earth Splitter and Sanity's Eclipse, LGD was not able to hold off another push and they called GG after losing the final skirmish.
