Harald “Powder” Gimre has been searching for a major championship for a long time. Despite being a grand finalist at multiple high-profile events including Assembly Summer and Gigacon Prime, the Swede always came short and enjoys a long line of silver medals, his only gold coming from Insomnia54.
The final days of February will often Powder another shot at a title as he beat the second PGL Tavern Tales qualifier last night. With $25,000 and 42 HCT points on the line, the Summer event of the Romania-based organizer is the most sought after event of the month. The interest towards the event is on such high level, that the limited 128 spot for each qualifier are being filled in under a minute.
Powder joins a growing list of established names to compete at PGL Tavern Tales, currently including 2015 player of the year Thijs “ThijsNL” Molendijk, Petar “Gaara” Stevanovic and Simon “Crane” Raunholst. The third and fourth qualifiers will be held today and tomorrow, respectively, hosted right here on GosuGamers.
