The Ukrainian snatched the win after five games against the tournament underdog and will try to redeem himself for the loss to Firebat in the winners bracket final.

The Cinderella story of Alexey “Lostov” Fursov is over. After going through the majority of team Archon and only losing to James “Firebat” Kostesich, the Russian up-and-comer scored his second loss in the playoffs tonight against Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh. The Cloud 9 player thus ensured a stardom-filled grand finals of the first ever StarLadder Hearthstone tournament.

“That’s probably the final everybody wanted to see,” StarLadder’s caster Savjz and Forsen said and it's hard to argue with them. Despite having long careers and being on the top of the Hearthstone scene, Kolento and Firebat have only met each other five times. The Ukrainian ran away with the first four duels and only yesterday was Firebat able to turn around his black streak against Kolento, winning the StarLadder winners final 3-0.

The two will fight for the $4,000 first place prize in a few minutes and one of them will become StarLadder’s first champion. The winner will also hold the #2 world rank in the GosuRankings, as the point difference between Firebat (#2) and Kolento (#3) is mere 13 points.
