The DreamLeague Season 7 qualifiers came to a close, Empire and Vega Squadron claimed the two European spots for the League stage, while Onyx took the only NA qualifier spot.

Started on the 10th of April in both the EU and NA divisions, the closed qualifiers were played in a very fast pace and by the end of last night, all the matches were already history with three teams advancing to the next stage of DreamLeague Season 7.

Unfortunately, in the European qualifiers, Cloud 9 were forced to forfeit their series against EPG, due to scheduling conflicts with the Zotac Cup grand finals, and, as the DreamLeague format was a single elimination bracket, the Danes lost any chance to continue. Luckily, they defeated Alliance that night in the Zotac Cup grand finals, and secured a LAN spot in Taiwan, Taipei in June. The other Scandinavian team playing in the DreamLeague qualifiers, Ninjas in Pyjamas, had Aydin 'iNsania' Sarkohi stand in for Troels 'syndereN' Nielsen and sadly, lost their encounter with Effect, thus transforming the semifinals into a full CIS battle. From the battle, Team Empire and Vega Squadron advanced into the LeaguePlay. Likewise, Na’Vi and Virtus Pro were directly invited in the LeaguePlay stage, making it four CIS representatives out of the eight participants.

In the North American qualifier bracket, Onyx were clear favorites and they did not disappoint. Jimmy 'DeMoN' Ho’s team recently produced a big surprise by qualifying for the Kiev Major. A month back, they delivered quite some upsets when they took down both NP and CompLexity Gaming to secure their ticket to Kiev. These three teams, plus Digital Chaos, will fight each other once more, but this time around it will be in the NA division of LeaguePlay.

Despite having all the teams decided for the League stage, DreamLeague is yet to announce the dates for this leg of the tournament. Three teams will qualify for the LAN event from the EU division and one from the NA division. The LAN event will take place in US, during DreamHack Atlanta, on July 21st and 22nd with $175,000 total prize pool.
