Summer's Rift qualifies for MLG Pro League 2 despite roster issues

Summer's Rift may be having roster issues but together with former Complexity player Mark 'tralf' Seidl and former Alliance player Niclas 'Niqua' Westergård, they managed to defeat North American Rejects two games to one to qualify for second season of joinDOTA MLG Pro League Season 2.

In the past few days since the qualifier started, Summer's Rift is easily the team that suffered the most unfortunate chain of events leading up to this final. After defeating Wheel Whreck While Whistling and ROOT Gaming DotA2 on April, the team travelled to Santa Monica to compete in the LAN finals of Red Bull Battle Grounds but they were defeated on the first day with no wins to their name.

The team members then returned to their hometown and in a rather surprising move, had a roster change which saw them losing their The International 5 qualifier spot to the open qualifiers. To make things worse, Summer's Rift lost in their match against Mousesports to guarantee them a spot in the MLG Pro League LAN and subsequently, finishing third place in The International 5 open qualifiers.

Reasons were not disclosed but Summer's Rift removed Brian 'BananaSlamJamma' Canavan and DragonFirst after their loss yesterday and came to play their final MLG Pro League qualifier game with stand-ins.

Things could not get any worse for Summer's Rift but they will be glad to know that, for winning the North American qualifiers, Summer's Rift will be heading to Austin, Texas on 5-7 June to compete at the X-Games.

Qualified teams:

Russia Empire
United States Evil Geniuses
Sweden Alliance
Russia Virtus.Pro
Russia Vega Squadron
United States Mousesports
United States Summer's Rift
Malaysia Team Malaysia
