M5 no fight for Alliance, Alliance to i-League 3

Alliance swept Moscow 5 in a best-of-three final to qualify for i-League Season 3. They will be heading to Shanghai, China on May 19 to compete in the $320,000 tournament.

Vega, PowerRangers and Moscow 5 were no fight for the red hot Alliance weaved through them as they punched their tickets to Shanghai, China for the LAN finals of the third season of i-League. Alliance's qualification to i-League is the team's first time participation in i-League since ImbaTV started running the tournament series mid last year.

Leading up to the grand final, Alliance did not meet much challenge bar a one game defeat against Vega in the quarter-final while Moscow 5 struggled for their pole position, with their series against Burden United and semi-finalist Asus.Polar ending in a tiebreaking win. Prior to the match, the odds were clearly staked up against Moscow 5 with 87% of our Gosubetters favoring Alliance over the Russians.

The favor for Alliance became evidently damning as the match started with Moscow 5 playing with a stand-in instead of Stanislav 'CHOMY' Storozhyk.

Game 1

Moscow 5 started game one last picking Broodmother and Omniknight only to be countered by Alliance's final pick, the Legion Commander. Legion Commander went to work fairly early in the game and she was able to pick up an above average farm killing off a lot of Broodmother's Spiderlings. At the same time, Alliance was also doing well in the other lanes and they were quick to push their gold advantage by grouping up and successfully taking down towers after towers.

Moscow 5 had no answers for Alliance's overwhelming farm and tapped out to regroup.

Game 2

Moscow 5 came into game two with a vengeance and off Maxim 'TpoH' Vernikov's early Blink Dagger on the Axe, they were able to take early fights with ease. Alliance continued to take bad fights and be overwhelmed by Moscow 5's tanky heroes going into mid-game. After losing two crucial skirmishes, Alliance decided to stop fighting completely and make sure their heroes had enough farm.

Needing to farm for their crucial items too, Moscow 5 and Alliance signed a temporary truce but Alliance, or more specifically Jonathan 'Loda' Berg's Sven pulled ahead very quickly and in the next fight, he went berserk and killed three heroes - almost by himself. After the fight, the Sven was almost too much for Moscow 5 to handle and a push from Alliance easily ended the series 2-0.

Alliance is on a 7-2 record this month after this victory and is currently ranked #9 in GosuRankings

I-League Season 3 LAN finals will begin on May 19 with a base prize pool of $320,000. Alliance is currently guaranteed a $4,800 cash prize finish.
