The Summit 3 announces qualifiers and teams

BeyondTheSummit have announced the details for their third installement of The Summit. Title defender Vici Gaming will be invited directly to the main event, with extensive qualifier for Europe, North-America, South-East Asia and China spanning over multiple weeks to determine six more teams.

The Summit 3 has been announced and will feature yet again teams from around the world. Four regional qualifiers - Europe, North-America, South-East Asia and China - will determine six teams that will travel to the main event in Los Angeles. They will be joined by Vici Gaming, the reigning champion, and a redemption team, which will be up for vote at the end of the qualifiers.

Prominent teams in the qualifiers include DAC champions Evil Geniuses, European powerhouse Team Secret and fan favorites Cloud 9. Every regional qualifier is divided into two phases, both of which being bo3 playoff-brackets. The first phase of each qualifier is a single elimination format, with the top two teams advancing. Two European teams, two North-American, one South-East Asian and one Chinese team will be able to qualify for the main event through the 2nd phase of the qualifiers, which will be a double-elimination event.

The main event will see the teams play in a revised format as the groupstage has been abolished and teams will directly be pitted against one another in a bo3 double-elimination playoff bracket. Once again, team will fight for a base prizepool of $100,000, with a compendium available for fans to increase the prizepool even further.
