Major Allstars : Rave and Invasion invited, Team Redemption allowed in qualifiers

Rave and Invasion are the two SEA squads to receive a direct invitation to the LAN finals of Major Allstars tournament in March 2015. Two more SEA teams will join the finals through the open qualifiers, which will also include Team Redemption (ex-Arrow Gaming).

The $100,000 Major Allstars tournament will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this March, with four international participants and four teams from the SEA region. Earlier this week, the tournament organization announced the two SEA teams that received a direct invitation to the tournament - Rave from Philippines and Invasion from Malaysia. These squads will be joined by the two winners of the SEA open qualifiers, which are scheduled to take place online from late January through February 2015. Since 695 teams have registered for these qualifiers, the competition is bound to be fierce.

We were notified from the tournament's representatives that Team Redemption is also one of the teams that will be competing for the remaining SEA spots. The roster of Redemption includes the five former members of Arrow Gaming, notorious for the recent SEA matchfixing scandal. While these players were banned from several tournaments (such as The Summit 2 or Synergy League), it seems that they will be able to join the Major Allstars SEA qualifiers and make a comeback in competitive DotA2.

Fallout Gaming statement regarding Team Redemption :

After much deliberation we have decided to allow Team Redemption (former Team Arrow) to play in our tournament. The team has been out of competition for the better part of 4 months and have almost definitely lost any chance of an invite to the TI5 qualifiers. The career lifespan of a professional gamer is short when compared to traditional sports and even in the latter a 1 year ban is significantly damaging to the player.

With that being said we are, of course, taking steps to make sure there is zero chance of a repeat offence. Their terms for competition are altered in regards to their team and each member is personally liable to the fines we have proposed under a legally binding contract. Furthermore any findings of non-sporting conduct will lead to immediate disqualification and a lifetime ban for all players on the team.
