Invictus Gaming takes down Vici Gaming in Sina Cup #5

Vici Gaming has been able to be a dominant factor in the Chinese scene as of late, but today Invictus Gaming take them down 3-2 in the Sina Cup #5 finals. The TI4 runner-up previously sent down the TI2 champions to the loser's bracket, but iG fought their way back to claim the title.

Today, in a very close grand finals, invictus Gaming took down Vici Gaming to secure the Sina Cup #5. It was a very close match which at first looked to be one-sided as iG grabbed an early 2-0 lead. In the second game both teams opened their drafts conventionally and when Vici drafted the Io as their third hero, Invictus stole Tiny away from them and picked it for themselves. Vici have recently been winning plenty of matches using Fy's Io and iceiceice's Tiny. Ferrari played it instead this game and completely surpassed the commonly seen Aghanim's Scepter. Instead he went Drums, Black King Bar, Manta Style, Assault Cuirass and ended the game with 21 kills, showing the world that a Tiny does not need neither Aghanim nor an Io to be successful.

Vici Gaming however did not give up so easily and managed to equalize it. The third game was a massacre where Vici Gaming dominated iG from the very first minute. The fourth game seemed like a similar story, and it would appear as iG lost the steam they had in the first two games. They fought back somewhat later in the fourth but were ultimately just delaying the inevitable. Vici Gaming tied up the series and the final went the full five games. The team could however not reward itself for the effort, as iG emerged victorious in the fifth and final game which was a rather even and intense game overall.

The Chinese powerhouse managed to fight their way back up to the grand finals after previously dropping down - losing 0-2 to Vici Gaming. The TI4 runner-up has been very impressive as of late, dropping only the second match every since they lost at WEC.

It is a much needed win for iG as the team had been slightly inconsistent as of late, dropping down from a 71% winrate in August to only a 56% winrate in this month. This victory will serve as a timely confidence boost, considering the team will be heading towards the i-League LAN finals next week. Vici Gaming will also attend the tournament.
