Sentinels bring on curry, pANcada freed with no buyout clause

Sentinels updated its roster to include a new sixth man whilst also allowing a world champion to leave for free.

Sentinels have announced the release of Bryan Vinicius “pANcada” Luna da Silva from the roster, just days after the team clinched the VCT Americas Kickoff title. The org has also stated that they have given pANcada “the opportunity to find a new team with no buyout.” And in the follow-up to his release, Sentinels also added a new sixth man to the team in the form of Rahul “curry” Nemani, formerly of Cloud9.

The release of the 2022 world champion did come as a surprise to many, which also included pANcada himself as he stated in his announcement. He has also gone on to say that he decided to remain on the bench to treat some health problems, which happened just days before the start of the VCT Americas Kickoff. And in his place was Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro, who joined Sentinels in September of last year.

Having won VCT Champs with LOUD a couple of years back, pANcada made the switch to Sentinels in the 2023 season that saw them have one of its worst runs that included an early exit at the VCT LOCK//IN, a group stage exit during the VCT Americas League, and a poor Americas LCQ performance. However, things are looking up for them now with its first VCT international LAN in over a year.

Sentinels' run during the VCT Americas Kickoff saw them finish second in the group stage despite a first series loss against LOUD. They also managed to finish top of the play-in stage even with every team getting one win apiece. It was still enough to push Sentinels through to the playoffs where they took down one of the favourites, NRG. Sentinels even managed to get revenge on their opening day loss against LOUD by besting them in a best-of-five grand finals.

And with the addition of curry as the sixth man on the roster, Sentinels will be looking to make an impact at Masters Madrid, which starts in a week's time. The former C9 player has been relatively quiet for sometime with his last role being the team's stand-in. Masters Madrid starts next Thursday, March 14 with Sentinels playing against Team Heretics the following day.
