A novel tournament brand has been born under the name "Iron Squid". The event aims to gather 16 world class players, cast by some of the best commentators in the business, and pit them against each other for a hefty prize pool.
A total of four groups of four people will be featured in the tournament as 14 of the 16 contenders will come as invites (the first wave will come soon and the invite process will be completed by end of January) and the remaining two will earn their spots by winning the two qualifiers.
The whole group stage and the quarter finals will be played online but come the time for the semi-finals and on, the best performing players will be flown to Paris on May 5th in front of a thousand-strong audience to determine how will the $25,000 prize pool be allocated.
"Iron Squid" will be broadcasted via two live streams with the notorious British duo TotalBiscuit and Apollo on the English one and Pomf and Thud taking care of the French.
