This is the first time Asia clashes with Europe in an international competition. What are your expectations?

Maka: I don't have any special expectations. I hope this will be a fun competition, that's all.

Gerrard: As a pro SC2 player, I will try my best to be the best. There are a lot of ex-pro players and newcomers joining the game, so the competition is very intense. I hope more people will be more familiar with me after this competiton.

What do you think of the European skill level?

Maka: Because of the regional difference and lantency, I never played with them before. I only watched some of their replays and I only know some of their names.

Gerrard: I mainly play with Asia players, so I do not have any contact with European players. But judging from SC1 and Warcraft3, you can see the difference between Asia and European players. European players sometimes will use very unique tactics, so I'm sure we will see lots of these tactics in this competition.

There are four Zerg players in Team Asia, and four Protoss players in Team Europe. What do you think is the reason behind this?

Gerrard: Maybe because a lot of korean ex-pro players choose Zerg as their main race since Zerg is very strong right now. Protoss is also very good, that's why European players like to play as protoss.

What do you think of the balance in the game at the moment?

Maka: In my opinion, banelings and voidray are the things that broke the balance in SC2. I used to play Warcraft 3, so I like to count units durning battles, and often a Zerg can crush it's opponent with 20 food less! Banelings are very cheap as well! Speaking of the void ray.. it's damage is scary. With decent micro, even one void ray can deal a lot of damage to the opponent's base. I hope the void ray gets a nerf, everything else seems fine to me.

Gerrard: As a zerg player, sometimes it is very frustrating that i'm not able to scout my opponent properly. It is very disappointing to lose to a sneaky void ray or banshee. I personally think the force field needs a fix as soon as possible as well, and also only two buildings can block a ramp, that's some questionable decisions.

Your teammates are coming from different countries and regions. Do you think such a match-up is good for the players to improve, or is it creating obstacles for the match?

Maka: I think this is very interesting. However, because of the language barrier, players could not communicate freely, so that's a shame. I'm very happy to meet this many foreign players though, these good players make me very excited.

Gerrard: Korean and Chinese players are very familiar with each other, and we practice together a lot. I hope I will get to know more foreign players this time.

Which player from the European team do you think you need pay extra attention to?

Maka: European players are good at micro, so I will just practice hard as usual.

Gerrard: It's hard to point out someone before the offical match, but I will try my best to practice hard.

Are you familiar with the Asian players? What do you think of them before this competition?

Maka: We met a lot on ladder games, they are all very good.

Gerrard: I watched a lot of sen's games, he's good at ZvP, I'm really impressed.

Which team do you think has the most chance to win? What are the possible causes to the result?

Maka: The Asia team will win :D The desire to win this competition is the main reason. We are not only aiming for the 1st place, but also carrying something much heavier. We want to win because we have to feed ourselves~~~:D

Gerrard: I do not know much about the European team, but the Asian team is very strong. The final outcome will depend on the potential of the European team.

Any words for your supporters?

Maka: Thank you very much for your support. For now, I only play good in order to feed myself.. Maybe I need to find a more noble cause? T.T

Gerrard: There are a lot of goals I did not achieve when i was playing Warcraft 3, I hope I can show these things to the audience through SC2. I will try my best to become the top zerg in the world, thanks for the support.
