Genshin Impact has unveiled a new playable character coming to its long-awaited Version 7.0 update. With Snezhnaya's winter chill right around the corner, travelers will be able to kickstart their journey with the arrival of Odette to the playable character roster!
Who is Odette in Genshin Impact?
Odette is a new character introduced from Snezhnaya, where she lives a double life as both a celebrated ballet dancer and a member of the Fatui.
She first featured in the “Transcendence Trailer - ‘Sudden Snow’”.
Renowned across Snezhnaya for her breathtaking performances, Odette has become one of the country's most sought-after performers. Despite her reserved personality and distant demeanour, audiences flock to see her dance, captivated by her flawless precision and graceful movements. According to her official character description, the moment she steps onto the stage, "even Snezhnaya's howling winds seem to fall still."
Offstage, however, Odette serves as a member of the Fatui. She balances demanding ballet rehearsals during the day with combat training and missions at night, maintaining an exhausting routine that she has long since accepted as normal. When asked whether she ever grows tired of juggling both lives, Odette simply replies: "But I'm already used to it."
Her name is also a direct reference to Odette, the heroine of Swan Lake, the iconic ballet composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. In the original story, Princess Odette is cursed to transform into a swan by day, while the ballet's lead performer traditionally portrays both Odette and her dark counterpart, Odile.
As a playable character, Odette will have a Cryo Stellar Linchpin, although her weapon preference remains unknown as of yet. She will likely be a 5-star character.
When is Genshin Impact Version 7.0 launching?
Genshin Impact Version 7.0 will launch after the Version Luna VIII update, which was released on 1 July, 2026. Version 7.0 will add a whole new region and cast of characters to the beloved action-RPG, and will likely launch sometime in August 2026.
However, HoYoverse has not announced a release date for Genshin Impact Version 7.0 yet.
