Liquid stomps Kaipi out of G-1 League

Kaipi will be the first one to be eliminated in the loser bracket of G-1 League after losing to Liquid's superior gank line-up. Liquid will be facing the loser of Alliance versus Na`Vi on the 27th of April.

Team Liquid demolished and eliminate Kaipi from their dreams to reach the G-1 League offline finals in straight just moments ago. Team Liquid played very strong gank line-ups in both games and exploited Kaipi's underwhelming map awareness.

With the win in hand, Liquid will proceed into the second round of the loser bracket and will face the loser of Alliance versus Na`Vi on the 27th of April. The game is set to begin at 10:00 CEST.

You can visit G-1's official site here.

Next up at 14:00 CEST is Mousesports versus Dignitas. As usual, the games will be played in a best-of-three and the loser of the game will be eliminated from G-1 League.

Mousesports and Dignitas have not met one another in nearly a month now, the last time was in the playoffs of Dreamhack Dota 2 Invitational 28 days ago. Nothing much can be said about this match-up except Dignitas defeated the Germans to proceed into the semi-finals of DH Invitational in their last encounter.

The live broadcast of the games will be provided by BeyondTheSummit and Ayesee.

Match report

Game one

Liquid went with Lifestealer on the top lane against the off-lane Lone Druid knowing that Lone Druid was not able to kill him during the laning phase. Liquid's Clockwerk managed to snipe the First Blood after Rubick got too aggressive and got caught out of position.

The laning phase was relatively quiet with only a few kills but Liquid had the clear upperhand in creep kills. 8 minutes into the game, a rotation by Lina and Templar Assassin onto the top lane got Liquid a four-man kill including the Phantom Lancer who teleported in to help out. Another careless mistake by Lone Druid allowed Liquid to take the top tier-one tower. The kill score was 7-1 in favour of Liquid after that.

Liquid extended their kill score to 10-1 and quickly took down Roshan for a bigger lead in the game. Kaipi continued to be picked off and did not seem like there was any hope of coming back. Liquid started diving the tier three 17 minutes in and even got the courier through Kaipi's careless maneuvering. Kaipi pulled out the white flag 20 minutes in.

Game two

Kaipi started out game two placing their Flying Courier on the big neutral camps to prevent Enchantress from getting good creeps but little did they know, Enchantress was jungling on their side of the map. Having placed the solo Faceless Void on the top lane, Kaipi was in trouble from the get-go going up against Luna and Nyx Assassin. This was reflected very clearly on the creep stats. However, a Venomancer teleport secured the the kill on Luna giving Faceless Void the First Blood.

The game was in a dormant state throughout the rest of the laning phase with neither teams having a real upperhand going into mid-game. Faceless Void, however, caught up in farm after Luna and Nyx left the lane to Clockwerk. With that said, a big fight broke out in the middle lane and both teams settled with a 2-2 trade although Kaipi's key heroes did went down.

Another team fight occured in 2 minutes later and this time, Templar Assassin's traps were able to separate the front-line heroes and back-line heroes sufficiently for Liquid to team wipe Kaipi. Liquid subsequently strolled into the Rosh pit to secure the Aegis. The Aegis was given to Templar Assassin.

This was the beginning of the end for Kaipi. Kaipi repeated the same mistake and fell multiple times to Liquid's superior gank ability. With their gold advantage exponentially building up, Liquid did not waste much time before mounting for pushes for the game. The game was clearly over when Korok's TA scored an Ultra Kill on the top lane.
