AFD claims GosuCup VI title

The team with the catchy name "April Fool Day" started out the final by sneaking down a Roshan kill. There was nothing in their picks being an obvious indicator of them doing so, Dreamz did not contest it. A few minutes after that Chibi's Windrunner grabbed the first blood by solo killing Julz' Magnus. Both lanes went for trilanes bottom lane, hinting that this lane would be full of action which was an accurate prediction. And everything just went AFD's way on this lane, they got all the kills, even on the heroes coming from other lanes, while always managing to survive themselves. The rotations from Chibi's Windrunner were spot on during the early phase of the game, showing up for most of the skirmishes landing clutch shackles and powershots.

Despite of all this, Magnus and Anti-Mage of Dreamz were in lead of last-hits and Magnus had Arcane Boots and Dagger at minute 16. The second Roshan went down by the hands of AFD right after and Windrunner claimed the Aegis. They proceeded to take down the bot set of barracks after that, Dreamz could not do much to prevent it. It was hard for Dreamz to re-apply themselves to the game but they managed to land a perfect Magnus + Queen of Pain combo on four heroes around minute 22. However, one of those heroes had Aegis, one bought back and another espaced so the losses for AFD were cut minimal. They instantly put up the pressure again and pushed through, good game was called at minute 26.



Dreamz decided to not start this game being behind, they sent their trilane bottom to go up against AFD's trilane and got two kills in the Radiant jungle. Lone Druid of AFD managed to find himself a solo kill on weaver top lane, due to a lucky Entangle cutting through the hit points of Weaver aswell as preventing him from running away. The game saw an intense period of kills raining in everywhere, in similiar fashion to game 1 but this time around the distribution of kills were more even, both teams trading accordingly. However the core of Dreamz, Lifestealer and Night Stalker, got the better of the trades. Weaver was struggling though while the Druid of AFD was doing well. AFD, after a few skirmishes with perfect synergy between Jakiro and Rubick, capitilized on the slightly awkward positioning by Dreamz and pulled ahead. Dreamz still had to make use of their underfarmed Weaver. At 24 minutes, there was a big clash in the midlane were Queen of Pain blew her ultimate on two heroes, both spell immune due to Rage and Black King Bar. AFD overextended with first Juggernaut and then Lone Druid, losing both their core heroes.

At minute 32, Dreamz initated with an infested Night Stalker, grabbing some quick kills, but the buybacks coming out from AFD turned regained them some momentum since they could teleport to the nearby still standing tier 1 tower. However, Lifestealer survived them all and the entire AFD squad got wiped bringing down some Dreamz' heroes. Kill score at the time was 23-22 in favour of AFD still. They responded by keeping up the aggression, scored a few more kills for Juggernaut who had 16 kills at this point. But the entire game up to this point consisted of the every clash switching winners, Dreamz caught Jakiro and Queen of Pain by surprise at the toplane outside the Radiant base, both went down and Dreamz could proceed to take down top barracks. A few minutes later, AFD blew most of their skills on a Shadow Demon who still managed to survive due to Disruption and Ghost Scepter. Dreamz saw their opening and punished AFD for the failed attempt, taking down Lone Druid and Queen of Pain before entering the base and forcing game 3.




The game started rather static, lacking the aggressive trilane from Dire that we saw in the prior two games. Eventually AFD claimed the first blood and some follow up kills, including killer the Lancer of Dreamz twice. AFD won a clash mid at minute 15 while Lifestealer took down a tower for free top. Lifestealer then teleported bottom, infested a creep and solo-ambushed and killed the Lancer. AFD kept their Bounty Hunter pressuring Lancer at all time, disrupting his farm. The casters called him ”The doctor who cured Cancer”. AFD did not allow any opportunity for Dreamz to recover their ground, always pressuring their lancer while pushing and killing of support heroes. Lifestealer and Magnus of AFD had the highest networths. Dreamz could not do much and none of their attempts put them in any upswing whatsoever. After Julz Weaver got picked off once again on top lane, outside Radiants base, Julz called the ”gg congrats” and the game and cup was over.
