Tt eSports too much to handle for We Are Spies in SBHL

The day in the SoundBlaster Heroes League started with a bummer, as the first scheduled match between compLexity Gaming and Bye Team had to be pushed back, due to member shortage on one side. The second match between the two North American teams of Tt eSports and We Are Spies took place as planned though.

coL vs. BYE: compLexity Gaming against Bye Team was scheduled to take place at 7 PM CET, but was never played. According to information given on the Honcast stream compLexity Gaming was short of one member so the match couldn't start. Apparently the match will get rescheduled, but a time and date is not yet known. We will keep you updated on that matter.

Game 1

The first match between these two North American rivals, that met earlier on the weekend, started out very slow-paced and reserved. It took almost 10 minutes to claim Firstblood, in this case Jakohl playing Glacius landed the last hit on CHEESEHELMET playing his beloved Gravekeeper. Until then the passive game actually favored Tt eSports as they drafted a jungler with Parasite and had a slight Gold and Experience advantage early on.

With a response kill from LeonBlack in the bottom lane and two other pick offs of two We Are Spies' players to not only get the early advantage back, but build up on that. The entire gameplan of 007 seemed to be resting on the shoulders of Draconis, so they did their best job to keep the jungle stacked and protecting that massive investment at all times. The first time the mighty dragon entered a team fight he did pick up a kill, but also had to surrender to death in the process, nullifying the kill essentially. That engagement actually could have gone way better for We Are Spies and might have been a key moment in the game, but the Pharaoh ultimate could not connect and so the engaging Draconis was caught way up front and died.

After that Tt eSports was able to pull ahead more and more by finding kills and free tower pushing opportunites all across the map. Especially LeonBlack on Parasite shone in these ganks, as he could farm an early Codex and go to work with that Laser Beam. This lead to a huge advantage after half an hour of play with a Gold and Experience advantage of more than 10k.

Tt eSports still played it safe, tried to exchange kills on the opposing supports with mostly a death on their own supports, but still get the important boosting kill on their carries with Wretched Hag or their bursty Parasite up front. We Are Spies was in a little bit of a desperate spot and so they got caught out on the bottom lane which resulted in a hefty 4-0 fight in favor of Tt eSports - putting the game away. As a result the former Oceanic powerhouse could not only push the Barracks on the bottom lane, but also go for a relatively free Kongor kill. 007 tried to work a miracle by hijacking the Kongor attempt and not only ninja'ing the kill on the big monkey, but also grabbing the Totem of Life.

To be fair that was the most positive thing about that desperate move as Tt eSports still cleaned up and extended their lead to an insurmountable advantage with only Draconis left to fight for We Are Spies. The concede vote came out and Tt eSports grabbed the early advantage.

Game 2

After that disappointing opening for We Are Spies they tried to shake it up and go for a unconventional hero choice in Flux. The game started out well again for them with a early Firstblood on said Flux, but it went south shortly after.

First both teams exchanged blows and kills to an equal amount on both sides, but from one point forward Tt eSports just rolled their opponents. Every kill in the game went in favor of Tt eSports with the deadly roaming coming out and Deadwood unceremoniously punching opponents in the face.

We Are Spies clearly had the AoE synergy of their lineup in mind with Flux, Engineer and Tempest all on their side, but with a lop-sided early game, that combo never really could show off it's potential. The boys around DirtyMobs were able to get that combo going once while pushing the bottom tower, but got completely shut down after all the ultis wore off. The DPS was missing and the opposing team already had way to much of a lead for the AoE team to come back.

The match went way out of head and the Diamond Division team of We Are Spies decided to call it a map, a game, a tournament and a night with a 15 minute concede coming out. Tt eSports therefor is in the money and has to wait for the match of Bye Team and compLexity Gaming to determine their next opponent next week.
